Gary C. Mills is the founding member of Gary C. Mills Hotels, L.L.C. (“GCM Hotels”), a hotel development company formed to acquire existing hotels and develop new select service and full-service hotels.
Prior to forming Gary C. Mills Hotels, L.L.C., Mr. Mills served in various capacities for Hilton Hotels Corporation, most currently as Senior Director, Franchise Development. Prior to joining Hilton, Mr. Mills was responsible for acquisitions at Westmont Hospitality Group, one of the largest independent hotel operators in the world. Mr. Mills started his professional career at John Q. Hammons Hotels after graduating from Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree and majored in Hotel & Restaurant Management. Mr. Mills served as a Senior Consultant for Laventhol & Horwath, a firm specializing in the hospitality industry. Doubletree Hotels, a client of Laventhol & Horwath, hired Mr. Mills to launch Compri Hotels’ franchise program. While at Doubletree Hotels, Mr. Mills was also responsible for management contracts and franchise development.

Homewood Suites by Hilton – Denton, TX (View Photo Gallery)Gary C. Mills Hotels, LLC and co-developer, Chartwell Hospitality, LLC (Franklin, TN) recently completed their first joint venture development, a 107 room Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel in Denton, TX. The hotel opened on October 29, 2009. The general contractor (“GC”) was Chartwell Construction, a subsidiary of Chartwell Hospitality, LLC. The hotel is being managed by Chartwell Hospitality. The hotel is an integral part of Unicorn Lake, a 136 – acre “lifestyle center” being developed by Shelton Development Company (click to view PDF). The development surrounds the beautiful Unicorn Lake and park, creating a pedestrian friendly place for the community and a destination of choice for the surrounding region. |

Hampton Inn & Suites – Frisco, TX (View Photo Gallery)GCM Hotels has obtained franchise approval from Hilton Hotels Corporation and City Council approval from the City of Frisco for the development of a 97 room Hampton Inn & Suites within “Sports Village USA” in north Frisco. GCM Hotels has teamed up with Terry Casey and Jerry Crenshaw, principals of Sports Village USA, LLC (“SVUSA”), to develop the hotel. The hotel will complement Fieldhouse USA, an existing 144,000 square foot state-of-the-art sports facility owned by the City of Frisco and constructed and operated by SVUSA. Fieldhouse USA is devoted to providing excellence in competitive and recreational sports for area residents and features 12 full-sized hardwood courts for basketball and volleyball, a 5,000 square foot food court, a 10,000 square foot training facility and a 29,000 square foot indoor turf field for soccer, football and lacrosse (see PDF.) Fieldhouse USA has signed a long term lease with Athletes Performance Institute (“AP”), a world-renowned leader in the training of elite athletes. AP’s training facility will encompass 10,000 square feet and will feature a 7,000 square foot training floor with state-of-the-art equipment. Sports Village USA will occupy approximately 60 acres at build-out and is designed to allow residents a place to experience and enjoy extraordinary shopping, dining, competitive sports and recreation in a pedestrian friendly environment. GCM Hotels is the lead developer of the hotel which is scheduled to break ground by the second quarter of 2010. |
